Sports massage is the manipulation of soft tissue to relieve tension, promote healing and prevent future injury.

A little bit about me, Danielle…

Being from a pretty active family, I’ve always had a keen interest in sport and with that, have inevitably come across sports injuries!

After being treated by physiotherapists and sports massage therapists for numerous ankle injuries, I became very interested in the rehab of sports injuries.

I went on to complete a degree in Sports, Health and Exercise Science at Brunel University and loved learning the science behind how the body moves and heals.

Whilst studying, I also qualified as a Sports Massage therapist in 2013 and have been lucky enough to work alongside a number of physiotherapists in private clinics, SEN schools and Brighton & Hove Albion FC.

It has always been my passion to pursue Sports Massage full time so when I embarked on my ITEC level 4 Sports Massage in late 2020, Re+Active Sports Massage was born.

About Sports Massage

Sports Massage involves the use of massage, stretching and articulation techniques to help treat a client.

Sports massage can be used in a number of ways:

Pre-Event - to stimulate the body and mind in preparation for exercise
Post-Event - to aid recovery and relaxation
Preventative - to keep tissues in optimum condition for activity
Corrective - to treat injured tissues and promote healing.

Most importantly, sports massage is NOT just for athletes!

It can be beneficial for everyday aches and pains as well as to correct postural problems that could lead to more serious issues further down the line.

About Pregnancy Massage

Pregnancy comes with a variety of physical, mental and emotional changes whilst a mother-to-be is not only growing her child, but also preparing to deliver them into the world.

For many women, as well as easing their aches and pains, pregnancy massage facilitates relaxation and preparation for labour.

Once the baby has arrived, post natal massage can help with the stresses of new motherhood and postural aches associated with breast feeding positions and carrying infants.

Pre and post natal massages are adapted and tailored specifically to clients to safely and effectively ease common discomforts associated with pregnancy.
